After hours

When we are closed

Our on-call doctor answers the phone on weekday evenings and on weekends. For anything life-threatening, do not wait: call 112 or go to the nearest emergency unit.

Emergency: get help now

Call or go straight to an emergency unit if anyone has:

  • Chest pain, pressure or tightness
  • Trouble breathing, or lips turning blue
  • Signs of a stroke: face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech
  • Heavy bleeding that will not stop
  • A seizure, fainting or confusion that came on suddenly
  • Sudden, severe pain anywhere
  • A baby under three months with a temperature of 38°C or more

Our on-call doctor

One of our four doctors takes the on-call phone. They can see your file, tell you whether it can wait until morning, call in a script to a late-night pharmacy when it is safe to, or send you to an emergency unit.

Can it wait until morning?

A cold, a mild fever in a child who is drinking and playing, a rash that is not spreading fast, or a repeat script can usually wait. We keep same-day times open every weekday from 07:30, so book the first time or call us when we open. Not sure? Read where to go when you are sick, or try the three-question tool on the home page.
